Als wir in Johannesburg im Backpacker waren, hab ich einen suedafrikanischen Reisefuehrer gefunden und mal geschaut, was da so ueber Deutschland drin steht. Und wie die den deutschen "Lifestyle" beschreiben, fand ich irgendwie sehr witzig, sodass ich mir mal dachte, dass ich die Beschreibung einfach mal online stelle ;-)

Once viewed as overly disciplined, humourless and domineering, today’s Germans are generally more relaxed, personable and interested in enjoying life. Reunification has evidently strengthened this trend, as it seems to be spreading eastwards. English – speaking travellers readily identify with Germans, and find it easy to strike up conversations with them.
Despite their penchant for continual improvement and modernisation, upholding traditions is dear to German heart. Hunters still wear green, master chimney sweeps get around pitch – black suits and top hats, Bavarian women don the Dirndl (skirt and blouse), while their menfolk find suitable occasions to wear the typical Bavarian leather shorts, a Loden (short jacket) and felt hat."
